Well, this is it. I've started a blog.

I've been toying with the idea for a while now, and I've finally decided to do it. I look at multiple blogs on a daily basis and love the idea of sharing inspirations, life, adventures, and all sorts of interesting things with people I both know and don't know. The idea of a blog may seem strange to some, but to me it's just another creative outlet. I plan on sharing a lot of the things in life that I find to be both lovely and inspiring. I'd also love to share some DIY and recipe posts that I decide to tackle along the way. I find inspiration in a lot of little moments and things I encounter, and I look forward to having a place to share them with others.

I'll also be embarking on a journey from my home to a faraway land, Arizona. My fiancé, Nicholas, is attending school down there, and I was looking for a break from school which was targeting my happiness--I was also looking for an adventure. Something to excite and to challenge and to make life a little interesting. I'm excited to document my journey and adventures while I'm there, though not extensively, in order to allow the people I love to view my adventure in a different way. It's a scary thing for me to do, but I really feel that this adventure is going to prove to be one of our best life decisions.

As for the name, it is the result of trying to think creatively and practically. Whimsy and wild is something I thought of while finally deciding I wanted to create a blog. I wanted something that was fun and unique, but also practical. That being said, this is actually part of a business endeavor I want to continue. I've long since wanted to start an Etsy shop full of lovely handmade products and paper goods. The name came to me and it stuck, and I love it because it's both interesting and sensible. The "whimsy" aspect comes from the desire to create products and designs that have a whimsical and charming feel to them. The "wild" comes from my love of nature and desire to have many of my products come from my inspirations from nature itself. Combined, the name is something I'm really proud of, and I look forward to furthering both the business and blog. However, because I'm moving, I've run into a few problems with actually starting my shop (not to worry, I have already created it so it is mine for the taking! Ha.). That being said, I hope I can find some way to start my shop while living in Arizona, and if I do, it will definitely be something I announce (quite grandly, I'm sure) on this blog, since it is an extension of my business.

And lastly, as for the look of my blog, don't expect it to stay the same, especially within the coming months. I don't know a lot about html and blog design, but I really want it to be something I create and love entirely. I'm currently working on how it looks, but for the time being, I have Angie at AngieMakes to thank for this cute template I have currently.

This is an exciting journey for me, and I really look forward to sharing it with you. Thank you for reading this and joining me in my adventure.
