Today's hand lettering comes as a result of my sister Marie seeing this lettered print I did for my sister Laurie, and asking me if I could make her one with the quote "Always kiss me goodnight." So, this past week I set off in creating something a little bit different than what I had been doing. The quote is definitely on the romantic side, so I thought it needed a more romantic hand-drawn type. My inspiration came from an artist I follow named Kelly Cummings who runs this blog. I love looking at her work; all of the flourishes in some of her work are so fun, so I wanted to channel that within my own work for my sister and this week's lettering project. I hand-lettered two separate styles for the quote, and ended up creating three different digital designs. My favorite is the first one. I just think the simplicity and legibility, as well as the colors just really strike my fancy. Which one do you like most?
